About Danielle KaliternaOver the course of 25 years, Danielle Kaliterna has served at a number of schools in California. She began her career in 1986 at the Shasta County Library in Redding, where she served as a tutorial supervisor. In this role, Ms. Kaliterna trained volunteer tutors for the library's adult literacy programs and assessed the reading levels of program participants.
In 1988, Danielle Kaliterna accepted a position as a fifth grade teacher at Manzanita Elementary School, also in Redding. Following this role, she took a teaching position at Cypress Elementary School. During her time at Cypress Elementary, Danielle Kaliterna taught second, fourth, and fifth grades. She also served as a cooperating teacher, mentor, Just Say No advisor, and member of the Social Studies Committee. Just Say No is a national educational program designed to help discourage youth from engaging in risky behavior. From 1998 to 2004, Danielle Kaliterna served as a teacher with Junction Elementary School in Palo Cedro, where she taught second grade. Today, she teaches at the Redding School of the Arts. Previously, Danielle Kaliterna attended Humboldt State University in Arcata, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in 1982. At Humboldt, Ms. Kaliterna studied psychology and early childhood education in preparation for a career as an elementary school teacher. She later attended California State University, Chico, where she earned her multiple subject teaching credential. At present, Danielle Kaliterna is a committed member of her community who is involved in many charitable efforts. They include the Southeast Asian Christian Ministry, where she serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors. She also supports the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and the National Park System. Additionally, she enjoys traveling and participating in outdoor activities, such as kayaking. |
